dark mode

Hi Lorenz,

We do not have any plans for dark mode in the immediate future. If more people are interested in dark mode, I will consider putting it on our road map. I would be interested to hear why you would like dark mode.

Best wishes

Hi Silvana,

I use all applications in dark mode and Citavi then shines extremely brightly. The Word plugin also looks relatively ugly and is visually annoying when dark mode is activated in Word. I think that an optional dark mode is today a standard for modern applications.

The topic has been discussed for two years in the German forum and there are many requests for it. May I draw your attention to it? https://help.citavi.com/topic/137082-dark-mode

Many greetings
Lorenz

Hi Silvana,

I would also like to argue for the Dark Mode. On the forum, which was addressed by Lozenz, 73 users have already liked this feature-request.

Here is my feedback from the German forum (translated from German):

I can only agree with the wish for a dark mode as well. As I write this message, it's already dark outside and all applications have automatically switched to dark mode with the help of the Auto Darkmode tool. The lights in the room have dimmed accordingly. Dark Mode is a standard feature in the year 2022 and represents an essential feature in terms of ergonomics. Scientific studies also show that the use of Dark Mode has advantages for visual acuity and ergonomics, for example. Citavi stands out noticeably and unpleasantly bright in the evenings and at night, i.e. at the time when students and scientists are also active.

Therefore, I also plead for a near-time implementation of this feature, which is meanwhile a standard feature, both in the application and in the Word plugin.

Would be very good to see this feature implemented soon.

Many greetings
Robert

Really needing a dark mode already. It's less strain on the eyes and better for power/battery usage. C'mon it's 2022 already.

Hello all,

I would like to bring up this topic again and supplement it. It seems that problems arise due to the lack of handling the dark mode. Currently, the Word plugin is unusable in dark mode because important options are missing. QSR's workaround is to switch Word to light mode (https://help.citavi.com/knowledge-base/article/im-word-add-in-fehlen-einige-beschriftungen).

Therefore, I would like to suggest the developer to seriously address the dark mode issue and implement native dark mode support including synchronization with system settings. This is urgently needed for the application as well as for the Word plugin.

Best regards
Robert

Also from me the demand for a dark mode for Citavi. Unfortunately, it is really exhausting for the eyes when you read longer texts (PDF) in Citavi, make notations, etc..

I hope, here is still improved, for the otherwise great software.

Greetings
