    Writing Groups for Scholars

    Register for one of the upcoming FREE virtual Writing Groups to learn best practices from experts and peers on academic writing and publishing.

    How to register? - On the right of this page, under Upcoming Events, find a date and time (localized to your time zone) that works best for you and click on that date to register for the Zoom meeting.

    Who can participate? All scholarly writers, including students, academics and research professionals are welcome to attend. There is no cost to attend, registration is free.

    Registration limited to 100 participants for each writing group session.

    Description: The monthly writing groups give you an opportunity to ask experts questions about academic writing and publishing, plus learn from your peers and colleagues.

    Topics:

    • Publish and Persevere: This dynamic series, with Maria Lahman, provides rich, detailed, cutting edge information on qualitative research writing, an opportunity for guided reflective thinking, and direct engagement. Each one-hour session will have 15 minutes of content which will also be provided to attendees in the form of presentations slides and a list of resources.  Reflexive writing prompts designed to encourage researcher growth and a question-and-answer session will be the focus of the session. Attendees will be invited to ask questions about the focus of the session or any area of qualitative research. Dr. Lahman is a Professor at the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado, USA, where she is a qualitative research methodologist in the Department of Applied Statistics and Research Methods. The group will meet every other week from January 20 through April 28, 2022.
    • Academic Writing and Publishing: This series gives you an opportunity to ask questions about academic writing and publishing lead by Rich Furman who, will share best practices and speak to the challenges of scholarly writing. Dr. Furman is from Write, Publish, Thrive Coaching, and Professor at University of Washington, Tacoma.  The group will meet once a month from February through June, 2022.
